Diploma in Medical Laboratory Technology (DMLT) is a branch of Paramedical Science that deals with diagnosing
- Basics of medical laboratory work
- Sample collection (blood, urine, stool, sputum)
- Preparing slides & stains
- Helping in diagnostic tests (blood sugar, Hb, malaria, etc.)
- Use & care of lab equipment
- Maintaining records and safety practices



Career Scope After DMLT (10th Pass)
You can work as a Lab Technician / Lab Assistant / Sample Collector in:
- Private & Government Pathology Labs, Hospitals, Nursing Homes, Diagnostic Centers.
- TBlood Banks, NGOs / Rural Health Camps
- Candidate working in Hospitals, Labs can also apply.
- Starting Salary: ₹8,000 – ₹15,000 per month (depends on city & lab)
Private Practice
After sufficient experience, you can open your own collection center under a tie-up with a large diagnostic lab.
Abroad Opportunities
With additional qualifications & English proficiency, you can work as a Medical Lab Assistant in Gulf or other countries.

With DMLT (recognized by State/Paramedical Council) you can apply for Lab Technician posts in Govt. Hospitals after appearing in state-level exams. - Pay is higher (₹25,000–₹40,000 per month).
